With its many castles, authentic buildings and splendour, the whole region is an oasis for the culturally interested tourist with good taste. Places to visit are Treignac, Saint Robert, Curemonte, Ségur-le-Chateau, Turenne, Mortemart, Collonges la Rouge, Rocamadour, Sarlat, Brive, Pompadour, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Collonges la Rouge, Oradour-sur-Glane, Gimel, Cantal, Suc-au-May, Padirac, the museum of President Jacques Chirac, Chateau de Val, the festival of Chateau de Sédières etc. Nature Because this is a wonderful nature area, the surroundings offer peace and quiet. You will find trekking-routes with stunning panoramas, for tourists as well as for the trained trekker. Golf Several interesting golf-courses are waiting to be visited. Bicycle The great diversity of the country makes cycling one of the most popular sports here, e.g. tourist, mountain biking and cycle-racing. Note: The “Tour de France” is no stranger to Treignac! The village shares a special bond with the most important cycle-event of the year. Because of this, former “Hotel de France” embraced very well-known guests like Eddy Merkx, Raymond Poulidor, Jacques Anquetil and Bernard Hinault! The many lakes in the area such as the lake outside Treignac offer several possibilities for a pleasurable stay. Kicks & Thrills Explore boundaries practising rockclimbing, go on a breathtaking balloonride, enjoy your kicks while paragliding, get wet on a wild water ride or get your thrills in a well organised assault-course high up in the trees. Winter A marvellous ski-area is only a 55 minutes drive from Treignac. Motor The area is ideal for bikerides; beautiful open roads, gracious curves, good view and absolutely no crowded traffic. The sky is the limit. Of course other information is always available and we will be pleased to give you the appropriate advice!
You can also explore the area by horse. There are several riding-schools available.
It’s great for water sports like windsurfing, sailing, water cycling, canoeing and kayaking. Not to mention swimming, fishing or just lounging on the beach under the warm French sun.
Also available is snowboarding and dog-sledging. There is still no mass-tourism here, only pleasant natural surroundings.
On 4 wheels you can go karting or 4×4.
